Mbeya Music

Mbeya music has its own unique flavor It is a blend of Kinyakyusa and Kisafwa culture and modern Tanzanian styles.

Description:

Traditional: Traditional dances such as ing’oma and social songs weddings, jando/unyago, village ceremonies. The rhythms are heavy, the drums are prominent, and the lyrics often have a teaching or historical message.

Religion and choir: Mbeya has a strong presence in gospel and choir music, especially due to its many churches and colleges. Many of Mbeya’s choirs are nationally known.
